Getting Started

Get your first AI-powered chatbot up and running in under 5 minutes.

Step 1: Create an account

Sign up at customerhero.app using your email or Google account. You'll be asked to create an organization — this is where your team, chatbots, and conversations live.

Step 2: Create your first chatbot

Navigate to Chatbots → New Chatbot. Give it a name and description, then choose a preset:

  • Balanced — Good mix of speed and accuracy. Best for most use cases.
  • Accurate — Sticks closely to your data sources. Less creative, fewer hallucinations.
  • Detailed — Gives longer, more thorough answers. Good for technical support.

Step 3: Add data sources

Go to your chatbot's Train tab and add content for the AI to learn from:

  • URL — Paste a link to your docs, help center, or any web page
  • Text — Paste product descriptions, policies, or FAQs directly
  • Q&A — Add specific question-answer pairs for precise responses

The system automatically splits your content into chunks, generates embeddings, and makes it searchable for the AI.

Step 4: Embed the widget

Go to the Embed tab and copy the script tag. Add it to your website's HTML, just before the closing </body> tag:

<script
  src="https://widget.customerhero.app/v1/loader.js"
  data-chatbot-id="YOUR_CHATBOT_ID"
  data-api-base="https://us.api.customerhero.app"
  async
></script>

The chat bubble will appear in the bottom-right corner of your site.

Tip: grab the exact snippet for your chatbot from the Embed page in your dashboard. It already includes the correct data-api-base for your organization's data region (US or EU).

Step 5: Monitor conversations

As visitors chat with your bot, conversations appear in your Inbox. You can see AI responses, jump in to reply manually, add internal notes, assign conversations to team members, and track resolution status. The AI handles the routine; you step in when it matters.
